The Mentalist Is One Of The Best Crime Shows

The Mentalist is a show starring the gorgeous Simon Baker and he plays the character, Patrick Jane, who plays a con artist who turns into a consultant for the CBI. He becomes a consultant for the CBI after a traumatic event as he wants to take revenge on a serial killer (Red John) who destroyed his family. Patrick Jane, who is the main character of the show is not just any consultant, he uses psychic and mentalist tactics and tricks to solve crimes and find out the criminals behind every case the team of CBI consultants and him try to solve in the TV show.

I have watched many crime shows (though I haven’t seen Psych) and The Mentalist is one of my favourites. Many say that the storyline is just like the Psych and many called out the cast and crew of The Mentalist for obvious similarities with Psych. The show aired from 2009 to 2015 and is still available to watch online.

The serial killer is hard to catch in this one and he is always one step ahead of Patrick Jane who wants to catch him. In season six, when the suspects are out, of who really Red John (the serial killer) could be, all the suspects are equally convincing as the serial killer. All the suspects look suspicious and badass enough and it will be impossible for us to guess who Red John really is, till it is revealed at the end of season six. Hey, but the show is not just about Patrick Jane’s dangerous journey to catch the serial killer, it also has all the elements needed in a crime show. The show talks about all kind of crimes. Thefts, bank robberies, abuse,human trafficking, medical crimes and many other crimes and in fact, it is a feast for a person who loves the crime genre.

This show is not just a thrilling and fun adventure; it also shows bonding among the CBI consultants especially the team that works together (the main characters). Usually some crime shows don’t focus on bonding and romance, but this show manages to show all that too. It is also nice to see a troubled Patrick Jane ultimately take revenge on Red John( the serial killer) and ultimately come to terms with his feelings for Agent Lisbon, who he eventually ties the knot with in the final episodes.

Why isn’t anyone talking about Kimball Cho?

Kimball Cho, one of the CBI consultants, played by Tim Kang, plays a subtle yet strong character with a dry sense of humour. He is someone who goes by the book and gets results while Patrick Jane disregards rules and uses his eccentric, crazy and mentalist ways to solve crimes. It is not just Patrick Jane and Kimball Cho; the whole team of CBI consultants have their own story in the show and are worth watching as they work together to solve crimes. Yes, you can binge watch this one.

Arjun Sarja Given Clean Chit In Me Too Case

Though the MeToo movement started in Hollywood, it soon became popular in India in 2018 after actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. Tanushree Dutta played a big role in boldly expressing her story, which encouraged other artists to come out with their story. The movement in India gained momentum soon and some shocking names were released to the media. In Bollywood, Sajid Khan, Anu Malik, Nana Patekar , Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor were the ones accused among many others. In south India, Vairamuthu, Radha Ravi, John Vijay and Arjun Sarja among others were accused of sexual misconduct and harassment.

In October 2018, actress Sruthi Hariharan said that Arjun had touched her inappropriately during the shoot of the movie, Vismaya. After she spoke against Arjun Sarja, four more actresses had narrated similar experiences with the actor.

The latest news is that Arjun has been given a clean chit now in this Metoo case. The Karnataka police filed a B-report to the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court in this regard. The actor has been cleared of charges due to lack of evidence and actress Sruthi Hariharan has been informed about the clean chit. The case was handled by Cubbon Park Police in Bangalore from the time it was registered three years ago.

What I Didnt Like About Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

When I got the news that Karan Johar’s movie was releasing in 2016, I was happy. I immediately wanted to see the trailer, the songs, and the cast and I wanted to know all the details of the movie. When Ae Dil Hai Mushkil released, I went for the movie with a lot of people. For those of you who don’t know, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is one of the most popular movies directed by Karan Johar.

Yes, the movie is good like most other Karan Johar movies. The first half is gripping, the songs are memorable, there are some funny moments, the cast is impressive, the clothes are on point and overall, it is a good movie. The movie is about a singer named Ayan (played by Ranbir Kapoor) and his quest for true love. He falls in love with Alizeh, played by Anushka Sharma. Sadly, Alizeh does not have feelings for Ayan and thinks of him as a friend. There is much more to the story. Alizeh marries her ex but sadly, the marriage doesn’t last.

There is a lot to like in the movie. But, the story brings cancer into the picture; it becomes cliché and something not so impressive. I know cancer is a serious thing and not something to be taken lightly. Karan Johar has brought the illness angle into his films before. I expected something much better and less predictable. Even with the cancer element, some scenes were good but we always expect something great with directors like Karan Johar.

Karan Johar is a director, producer, judge in reality shows, fashion designer, TV host, TV anchor and author. I like his films, I love the way he hosts shows and awards, I liked his book called; An Unsuitable Boy and I have watched every single show of Koffee with Karan but bringing cancer into Ae Dil Hai Mushkil disappointed me.

Karan Johar had also revealed a long time ago that he killed Anushka Sharma’s character (Alizeh) in the movie because she did not reciprocate Ayan’s feelings and he got trolled for it.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu Signs Her First International Project

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the most famous celebrities in south India. Known for her good looks and screen presence, the actress is now all set to act in her first international project. After watching her in The Family Man 2, Philip John, the director of the movie, Downton Abbey, wanted to cast Samantha in his movie. Philip John said her aura and craft compelled him to revisit her earlier work and his admiration for her grew post watching her earlier work. The actor had a meeting with the director in November and the movie they will be working on is titled Arrangements of Love, based on a novel by the same name. Samantha plays a bisexual woman who runs a detective agency in the movie.

Samantha says;

“A whole new world opens up for me today as I start my journey with ‘Arrangements of Love,’ which has such an endearing and personal story. I am excited to work with Philip John, whose projects I have closely followed for many years, being a big fan of ‘Downton Abbey.’ I am looking forward to collaborating with Sunitha once again and I hope for only more success than we previously had with ‘Oh! Baby’. My role is a complex character and it will be both a challenge and an opportunity for me to play it. I cannot wait to get on set.”

We hope this is just the beginning of a great international career for her. The actress is also keen to make a Bollywood debut next year. Samantha has a packed year in 2022 as she is on a signing spree.
